n°1 – invierno

A legal-size title page. Over white background sits a sky view photography of Los Angeles downtown skyline from the east. Above this photograph is red Old English text which reads as "ediciones inéditas!". Overlayed over the above photograph is white Old English text which reads as "This is Tonvaangar not Aztlán". A red bar cuts across the word Aztlán at a diagonal. Below this photograph is red Old English text, at a skew which reads, "for anarchy & communism." To the right of this is more red Old English text which reads as "an anti-political & anti-colonial proletarian project live from occupied Tongva territory." Below this is black Cabolafe text which reads as "n.01 invierno 2024."

This small magazine is the product of the desire to create something beyond just text, the way anarchist magazines of the past often did. To bring together humor, wit, analysis and powerful images (or at least attempt to). This is not to further market the image of rebellion, since nothing is for sale here, but to join in on the proliferation of a visually antagonistic radical culture that speaks to place, history and culture here in occupied Tongva territory, city of Los Angeles (just don’t call this Art.).
